Things to do at home

With the weather in the UK set to be mixed this half-term, we have pulled together a list of fun and creative activities that can be played outside or indoors. Whether playing in your garden or living room or exploring your local park and nature reserves, there is something to get everyone’s adventurous imagination running wild!

Build a scarecrow

Build a family of scarecrows with your little ones using old clothes, straw, sticks and string. Big or small it will provide hours of entertainment and keep the naughty crows away!

Camping at home

Old bed sheets or table clothes hung over a low tree or clothes horse make for the beginnings of the perfect tent or den. Pack a picnic and some binoculars and spend your afternoon watching the world go by.

We’re going on a treasure hunt!

Sweet treats, small toys or clues can be hidden and buried around the garden or home providing a day of entertainment. Hang them of branches, stick them to fences or hide them under plant pots for your little ones to find.

A Mini Allotment

Teach your kids the wonders of growing flowers and vegetables by giving them their own mini allotment in the garden. Plant ready grown flowers or seeds for young ones to nurture. If you don’t have a garden windowsill plant pots or indoors plants work just as well and need just as much love, care and attention.

Crazy Golf

Using old pipes, trays and smooth planks of wood creating your own mini golf circuit in the garden, over the park or in the living room!
